About Me
Hello! Welcome to AP U.S. Government & Politics at BASIS – Peoria. My name is Lee Tran and I am very excited to be your teacher!
This year I am entering education and teaching after 20 years working in the corporate world. During this time, I’ve worked as a senior executive at some of the largest multinational companies in the world. Although my long career had taken me to several different countries, I’ve spent a great deal of time working and traveling in Asia, Europe and Australia.
As a teenager growing up in the small town of East Hampton, Connecticut, I did not dream of living and working overseas. However, I discovered early on that education and hard work can really take me wherever I wanted to go. In 1987, I graduated from Brandeis University with a Bachelor degree in Computer Science . A year later, I went on to study International Relations, and in 1990, obtained my Master degree in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University.
Having experienced success and enjoyment in my career, I want to bring my skills and passion to help my students get their opportunity in life and prepare for a journey of success ahead.
I look forward to a fun and productive year with you.
